There is still abundance here. 🌱

I wonder what dreams God has planted in your heart that He’s seeking to harvest in the very season you are in right now?

I wonder what the “then” is that you’re waiting for to truly start living the abundant life promised to us in Christ?

I wonder if those dreams that you thought God has hidden in your heart for the future could actually come to fruition in the present circumstance of your today?

For years, I’ve been dreaming of a life that was “yet to come,” waiting for my “someday” to arrive, until God spoke a word on my heart that changed everything—

“There is still abundance here.”

So often, we get lost in waiting for the version of the dream we “thought it would be” to arrive, that we miss out on the abundance woven within the version of the dream that God is revealing in this very moment right now.

In my story, I’ve spent years waiting for dreams to come to fruition, with a bunch of kids running around a big old garden on a lovely plot of land, to find that the dreams of my heart have been flourishing in front of my eyes this whole time.

We live in a little house in the city on a tenth of an acre. While our house is small and we don’t have much land, cultivating these gardens has brought dreams to life that God planted deep in my soul, God’s version of the “dreams” He’s revealed for today.

I believe that the dreams that God has hidden in our hearts are just us much for today, as they are for the “someday” we thought they would be, if we will surrender our hearts to see from a divine perspective.

And maybe someday this version of the dream I’m presently living in will continue to grow, but I don’t want to miss out on the dreams God is already harvesting because my eyes are set on the wrong thing.

I want to wait with heavenly hope for tomorrow, while I live in the abundance of what God has revealed for today.

In the very season, I believe that God is harvesting dreams planted deep in your soul, if you will allow him to open your eyes to see that “there is still abundance here,” while you wait with heavenly hope for tomorrow.

It’s the first day of spring and we’re celebra

It’s the first day of spring and we’re celebrating with the windows open, sunshine pouring in and this delicious lemon poppy seed sourdough loaf! 🍋

Ingredients :
Lemon Poppy Seed Sourdough Loaf—
100g sourdough starter, active
50g unsalted butter, melted
50g milk
50g lemon juice, fresh
zest of lemon
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 large egg
50g granulated sugar
50g brown sugar
125g all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. poppy seeds
1/4 tsp. salt

Lemon Glaze—
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 tbsp. lemon juice, fresh

Directions :
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease an 8 ½ x 4 ½-inch loaf pan with oil or line the pan with a piece of parchment paper, and set aside.
2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together sourdough starter, butter, milk, lemon juice, lemon zest, vanilla and egg. Add sugars, and mix until smooth.
3. In a separate mixing bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda, poppy seeds and salt, until well combined.
4. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until well combined, yet not over mixed.
5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 35-40 minutes until the bread is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
6. While the loaf is baking, prepare the lemon glaze by whisking together powdered sugar and lemon juice in a small bowl.
7. Immediately after removing the loaf from the oven, while the bread is still hot, use a pastry brush to brush the lemon glaze over the bread.
8. Let the bread cool for 10 minutes in the loaf pan, then remove the loaf from the pan to cool, or serve warm and enjoy!
