Ingredients

Strawberry Pop Tarts

  • 1 box Ready-to-Bake Pie Crusts
  • 1 jar strawberry jam
  • 1 egg

Strawberry Pop Tart Icing

  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp. heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp. strawberry jam

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  • Roll out pie crusts onto a lightly floured surface
  • Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out hearts from pie crusts.
  • Place half of the pie crust hearts onto a baking sheet, covered with parchment paper.
  • Spread a small dollop of strawberry jam into the middle of half of the pie crust hearts, leaving room around the edges.
  • Whisk the egg to make an egg wash and using a pastry brush, brush the edges of the filled pie crust hearts.
  • With the remaining pie crust hearts, gently cover the hearts with jam filling, pinching the edges of the two hearts together.
  • Using a fork, gently press around the edges to seal the pop-tarts, then brush the pop-tarts with egg wash.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes and let cool completely on a wire rack.
  • While the pop-tarts are cooling, make the icing by combining powdered sugar, heavy cream and jam.
  • Once the pop-tarts have completely cooled, pipe or spoon the icing onto pop-tarts and enjoy!
