Wow, I’m absolutely blown away by the love, support, encouragement and sharing the launch of my book yesterday. 🥹📖✨

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for all the ways that you have celebrated this huge launch of with me. I don’t have the words to express the depths of gratitude in my heart for all of you and the incredible ways you are supporting this part of my story.

I never want to forget moments like this, when I see the evidence of God’s faithfulness pouring out in a million ways and feel his love wrapped so tightly around my heart by the kindness all of you have shown me in sharing this news. I’ll say it again, this book is beyond my wildest dreams and your support means more than you’ll ever know!!!

After years in the making, and God writing this book on my heart when he called our family to the joy of homeschooling, my book is officially here (and truly more beautiful than I could have imagined)! And today, it’s available to preorder on Amazon, with the big launch happening on April 10, 2025!

What if I told you that “learning how to read” doesn’t just happen in a single moment, but rather it’s a road we walk with our children over time.

As a former kindergarten teacher, teaching hundreds of students “how to read,” I’ve seen the immense pressure society places on when a child should be able to “read,” but what if we rather than coming under society’s timeline, we walked in the freedom of a totally different “framework” in what it looks like to support our early readers in exactly what they need right now.

What if rather than pushing them into the “level” of reading we’ve been told they should be at…we instead slowed down to seek understanding, come alongside where they’re at in their journey and and walk this road of reading hand in hand.

Reading is the most beautiful lifelong gift we can give our early learners, and the beauty of the way God created our brains is that there will be a time for every child when the synapses of their brain are reading to “read...” but until then, it’s our invitation as mamas to enter in to where they’re at right now and support them in all they ways they need.

So mama, take a deep breath and simply join them on this road to reading, trusting in the process as we watch our children become incredible readers in the days to come.

Postcards from February. 🕊️

As I look back on this past month, I’m thankful for all the ordinary moments saturated with the presence of Jesus and grace upon grace woven into all the heavy, hard and holy moments in between. The first few photos hold such sacred places in my heart— embracing the love in my marriage, celebrating the love of being his mama and remembering the love for our heavenly daughter, baby Grace.

I’ve written about it time and time again, but this month, this truth has felt more freeing than ever— we have this invitation to hold two feelings at the same time. As much of our month was holding space for the hard and holy, as baby Grace’s heaven day came and went. And yet, all the while, by the grace of Jesus, our hearts were simultaneously held in the confidence of unwavering hope and filled to overflowing with an unshakable joy in the Lord (Romans 15:13).

I love looking back at all these ordinary moments and remembering how they felt, the way the Father was wrapping his love around us and the evidence of heaven all around. I’m in awe that we serve a God who doesn’t leave us without hope, but pours his presence out into the every day moments of our lives, that can so easily pass us by. This month I was praying for Jesus to give me eyes to see his faithfulness, and he led me to see abundance everywhere we looked (Ephesians 3:20).

February was filled with lamenting, rejoicing and holding fast to this very hope, in the midst of joy and grief colliding— and yet, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Welcoming spring in our hearts, and expectant for the presence of Jesus that March will bring. 🕊️

THE BEST SOURDOUGH PANCAKES 🤍🥞✨

Both of these pancake recipes are easy to make and totally from scratch! The pancakes are fluffy and buttery with a hint of cinnamon and vanilla that gives these pancakes the most delicious flavor. Made with ingredients you already have in your pantry, these pancakes are easy and delicious every time!

A few years ago, it was put on my heart to begin creating heirloom recipes to pass down through generations in our family, and these pancake recipes were the first ones that I scribbled down in a little notebook…and they’ve become our favorite recipes since.

Someday, I hope they remember my legacy from the food we ate, how we gathering around the table and lingered in the warmth of one another’s love, and the way they felt in my home. Someday, I hope that they make these recipes and continue to family tradition of gathering around the table and the love they share. And someday, I hope the tradition of slow mornings with homemade pancakes lives on, just like it has for me.

Baby Grace’s Heavenly Gathering 🕊️

It’s been just over a year since the miscarriage of our heavenly daughter, and with her “heaven day” passing…the Lord reminded me of his faithfulness and how he surrounded me with divine comfort in that time.

One week after our miscarriage, my friends hosted a “heavenly gathering,” and today, I wanted to share about it with all of you! My heart in sharing is that this serves as an encouragement of how to support friends who are walking through the grief of miscarriage. 🕊️

What is a “Heavenly Gathering?”
A “heavenly gathering” is a time to gather around a mama who has walked through miscarriage to grieve, lament, pray and simply be together.

What’s included in a “Heavenly Gathering?”
As you plan this type of gathering, let the mama who miscarried lead in sharing what she needs. If she’s unsure, offer options of what that time could look like or simply create space to come around her to grieve together.

At Baby Grace’s “Heavenly Gathering,” we pressed into these four things and it was just what my heart needed as I processed my grief…

🎵 Worship…the Lord led me to a song that has become an invitation to lament, declare of his faithfulness and remember our heavenly daughter. At her heavenly gathering, we sang this song together in worship.

🕊️ Sharing…it was helpful to process through all the ways God was speaking into my grief and what he was teaching me. At her heavenly gathering, I shared what God was declaring over my heart.

🤍 Momentos…a momento is given as a keepsake in remembrance of the baby in heaven. At her heavenly gathering, each friend brought something to add to her “momento box,” shared their heart and gave me those things.

🙏🏼 Prayer…the gathering ended with each friend laying hands on me as we prayed and wept together. We felt the presence of God pouring out divine comfort, and I’ll never forget the love that moment held as we grieved together.

As I reflect on God’s kindness this past year, I’m beyond grateful for all the ways we were surrounded by family and friends. Thank you to everyone who has loved us so well since the miscarriage of our sweet Baby Grace.
