HOW TO PRAY FOR YOUR CHILD’S FAITH

HOW TO PRAY FOR YOUR CHILD’S FAITH | A MAMA’S GUIDE TO PRAYING FOR SPIRITUAL STRENGTH

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

EPHESIANS 3:14-21

As mamas, God invites us to the joy and honor of partnering with Him in prayer, as we intercede for the little hearts in our homes.

But, have you ever wondered what to pray, been overwhelmed with all the things you could pray over your children or simply desire to go deeper into praying for their faith, but don’t know where to start?

In reading through Ephesians, God led my heart to take hold of Paul’s heart for his “spiritual children” in his letter to the Church of Ephesus and how his words lead our hearts as praying mamas.

In this passage, we see Paul partnering with the God, relying on the Lord’s strength to move in the hearts of these “spiritual children” he loved,

and because of his heart for their faith and his belief in God moving through prayer, the Bible declares, “For this reason I bow my knees before the Father,”

Paul knew it was through the power of prayer that their hearts would come to comprehend the incompressible love of God, that would lead them to follow after God all the days of their life.

May these words become our daily prayer, believing that as we go to our knees and intercede for the little hearts in our homes, God will answer and faithfully lead our children to know this love and take hold of the gift of salvation.

Whether it’s praying with a sink full of dishes, while switching over another load of laundry or as you are waiting in the pick-up line at school, our prayers matter and we have the honor of partnering with the Lord has he invites the hearts of our children to know vastness of his love.
